Sleeping Dogs is Awesome? Borderlands 2 is Good? Black Mesa is Amazing?
Thought i would give a quick review on some games i have played recently!
Before i do though remember my reviews are not based on any other reviews, the are what I think of the game! I also focus hard on story and game play so enjoy!
Sleeping Dogs.
So far I love this game, the city is gritty, interesting and full of life and the things you can do in said city are plentiful!
The highlights of this game are defiantly the awesome fighting engine (for once in a game I prefer fighting over gun play), the movement (The parkour style running makes it fun to run!) and the driving (for once...)!
The story is also great and as both a cop and gangster I really want to see how this story plays out and what will happen, I will also admit that I have grown a likeness to the characters but don't tell anyone......
I highly recommend it!

Borderlands 2.
I have only just gotten into this game recently but played enough to give an opening thought. First off I wasn't a massive fan of the first one, I enjoyed it a little but I only worked up the energy to finish it when a mate jumped in for Co-Op.
I admit that this game is a Co-Op game but I hate the "Play to Win" attitude of most gamers now days (specially Console gamers) so Co-Op drives me insane and makes the game pointless. Maybe ill give it ago with my Borderlands 1 buddy later on...
I always feel its a bit repetitive, the missions seem to be similar but I like the story in this one better then the first. (having a single bad guy to chase makes it exciting!)
I will update this later down the track if I keep playing.

Black Mesa.
This game has simply blown my mind...
The original Half Life game was brilliant, the levels where amazing and varied, the guns amazed a generation, the graphics where stunning for the time and the story was mystical and dark yet extremely exciting! Black Mesa is all that but better and more pretty...
Basically a group of modders have built this whole game using the Source Engine shown off in Half Life 2 but for a game that didn't come out of a studio it is defiantly my favorite game of 2012. Why? Well basically they got it right, the same Half Life 1 game from 1998 just made pretty, also the extra slight changes from the original levels is exciting like an added office or room. The voice acting is also well done with most spoken lines sounding just like the original, including the addition of young Half Life 2 characters like Eli Vance.
The combat works exactly like the first game with pretty much the same weapons and they feel heavy and like they pack a punch, unlike the more mature future weapons of Half Life 2 that feel futuristic and kinda soft.
I feel like I could talk about this forever but I wont, when the game is 100% completed I will do a second review and hopefully it wont be 2000 pages long!

My Minecraft Creations Part 1!
Cobblestone to Redstone!
I have been playing Minecraft since early Alpha and since then i have created a hell of a lot of "things".
I am not the best Minecraft player out there or am I even close but today ill show you some of the things i feel are amazing to me and some creations that took forever.
Number One: The Mighty Castle:
This is my castle! It was one of the first things i made and was pretty much completed around the arrival of Minecraft Beta. It was built over a massive hole i made with TNT which i later used as a massive spiral like stair case downward to the bottom on the world, so basically it might not be the tallest but it is defiantly the deepest! It features a room with a working light switch, 3 large towers (1 Lookout, 1 Light house and 1 battle tower), a floor with a lake under it, water falls, lava falls that start 30 blocks above ground and finish at the bottom of the earth and also has fantastic redstone wiring all over!
Number Two: Two Player Paper, Scissors, Rock!
A Simple yet awesome game of Paper, Scissors, Rock! Basically in each room there 3 levers, one for each option and in player A's room there is a "go" button. When you push the go button a "Ready Set Go" sound will play, then each player flicks there switch. Shortly after the doors will then open and the two players can come out and see who won! Simple yet if you see the screen shots above, getting it to work took a LOT of redstone!
Number Three: Battle Arena.

Another simple redstone creation! Basically one player will be a controller while the rest prepare to fight, Players will wait in the waiting room (Image 1) until let into the arena by the controller in the control room (image 2). The controller can now active the lights and start spawning monsters by pushing the buttons in the control room, the battle is over when the controller sees fit as he controls the exit. Once in the exit room (image 3) players can fully heal themselves by hitting the "heal" button which makes regeneration splash potions fill the room. A Simple yet fun idea!

How to win when you fail so bad!
CS:GO is rocking the interwebs so lets learnt how not to die.
Sure getting shot in the face over and over is sooooo fun!! How about we look at 8 quick ways we can avoid getting thrown to the ground with 50 or so bullets in our skull bone:
- Learn to Shoot: Read my previous post... But to sum it up simply shoot in short bursts or even a single bullet at time. Spray and Pray is out of the question UNLESS the target is basically right in front of you.
- Learn the maps: You can play with bots in CS:GO so do so! They are there to give you the chance to learn the game and, in this case, the maps. You will need to know them pretty well to do any good, also give to training mission ago, it gives you some basic tips on gameplay.
- Know your objectives: Ok so first there are two types of game modes, The first is a DE map, in this mode Terrorist must bomb either site A or site B while the Counter-Terrorists must protect both. The second is a CS map, in these maps the Counter-Terrorists must enter a location, grab hold of some hostages and bring them to the spawn point. Terrorists must stop them basically. REMEMBER: The best way you can win a match is to simply kill the enemy team!!
- Learn to Snipe: Sooner or later you will be faced with the mighty AWP, practice your sniping for such an occasion.
- Learn the game types: CS:GO has many game types like Arms Race or Classic modes, i would recommend reading about these and also trying them out with bots before jumping into an online match.
- Have a favorite gun: I have 3 favorite Terrorist guns, 2 favorite Counter-Terrorist guns and a favorite pistol that i have constantly used and gotten really good at, I would recommend the same.
- Simply play the game: You will get better as you go, just jump on in and give it ago. Sure you might suck at first but i guarantee you will improve with time!
- Duck for the love of gaming!: Standing there like a twit and firing randomly around is not going to help, try holding crouch when you shoot to improve accuracy. I do this every time I and it has helped me a lot!
I will revisit this later down the track with more tips but as for now good luck and remember shoot first, cry later...

Why have people forgotten how to win at CS?
Now that CS:GO is here, why you no shoot right?
Its been many years since we have seen a new CS game and I have to say its been worth the wait! After about a week of pwning i have rated this game highly due to the game having the same features of the old but the looks of the new.
The problem? The people... that's the problem...
Why? Well the recent burst of CoD games and Battlefield games have caused many of today's gamers to forget how to shoot. Instead of sitting outside a room waiting for your chance to attack, players are running in and getting blasted away. Instead of crouching whilst tapping the trigger and nailing your target, players are running right at them and holding the trigger down while being shot in the face.
Counter-strike's has a realistic and challenging style, running and charging will get you a bullet to the teeth, while in CoD you CAN pull out an automatic rifle and hold down the trigger while running in circles.
So take this as a lesson:
If you run in and "spray and pray" your gonna have a bad time.
Sitting back and tapping the opponent to death will equal great success!
